Moore 'Scrubs' In! And De Mornay Learns the 'Law'

It was a night filled with guest stars, wasn't it? Everyone from Michael J. Fox to Sela Ward to James Blunt to Rebecca De Mornay and Mandy Moore put in appearances last night. It was a virtual star-fest on your TV! One of the more interesting of the bunch was Mandy Moore's appearance on real-life boyfriend Zach Braff's Scrubs. Moore was perfect as the clumsy Julie Quinn, and she and Braff played off each other quite well. The second episode with her "That's so funny" problem was, well, so funny. I loved the irony that after JD was finally able to get past this annoying habit, he finds out that she isn't ready to get married or even think long term. So, he ended up breaking up with her anyway, but it was a legitimate reason. I LOVED the airband storyline in the first episode. Turk's "rendition" of "Poisen" was absolutely fabulous! And I can't even express my complete glee over the entire band's airbanding to Boston's "More than a Feeling" because it's one of my all-time favorite songs. If you can't get enough of the Sacred Heart airband (like me), you can click on over to nbc.com for more. How awesome was Perry's assessment of all the different women's experiences after they had gone out drinking? I loved Unconsious Jordan! She did look fabulous, though! And now its time for the weekly awards that honor the best and funniest lines from last night's episodes.

The Scrubies
"Two good reasons: His face and his personality." Dr. Cox on why JD hasn't had a date in awhile

"He's starting to look like a guy and I'm not into kissing guys." Dr. Cox to Jordan on why he won't kiss his son

"Ladies I hate to disappoint, but my quota for women who bug the bejeezus out of me has been met for the next billion years." Dr. Cox to Carla and a female patient

"And I'm a doctor and we believe without surgery, a person in your condition can suffer from a major case of deadis." Dr. Cox to his Jehovah Witness patient after hearing it is against her religion to have a blood transfusion

"It seems I stumbled into the time-well-spent ward." Dr. Kelso after catching the airband rehearsing in his hospital

"I have many more pressing issues, starting with a gigantic paralyzed wife and ending with a gay son who has just written a scathing musical about me called 'Dr. Dad,' which, despite mixed reviews, has just been held over in Buffalo." Dr. Kelso to Turk

"With Jehovah as my witness, sometimes it's just too much." Dr. Cox to Carla on all the expectations he has to live up to

"She is not graceful." Elliot after watching Julie (Moore) trip while running to embrace JD

"I don't know who you are, but thank you for that." Dr. Cox to Julie after she tells him that JD's parents thought he was going to be a girl and called him Joanna

"You know what's interesting Turk, she's not saying 'That's so sad.' She's actually crying." JD after he and Julie got in a fight over her use of "That's so funny" instead of laughing

"This is the dumbest conversation I have ever heard." Dr. Cox after listening to Turk try to get JD to stop obsessing over Julie's use of "That's so funny"
"You should hear this one." Dr. Kelso after listening to Carla and Elliot drone on about the hot new ob/gyn

"Sometimes I watch Roots to remind me how good I have it." Turk after Dr. Cox asks him about how he deals with Carla's bossiness
"Me too." JD to Turk

So, that's this week's edition of The Scrubies. If you have a quote that you would like to nominate for a Scrubie, please leave me a comment with your suggestions and I will post them here in a future edition. What did you think about Mandy Moore on Scrubs? Were you laughing at her goofy antics or hoping she and JD would break up? Leave me a comment with your thoughts on last night's episodes.

Last night's Law & Order: SVU lost me somewhere in the middle. I was completely enthralled for the beginning, then I became bored, but I was right back in it near the end. I don't know, I guess it was just an alright episode for me. I did think that guest star Rebecca De Mornay did an unbelievable job, though. I never suspected that she had healed enough to be able to walk! I did think that she was involved with framing her husband. She really was sick in the head, wasn't she? She had two women killed because her husband was cheating on her and her husband was cheating because he thought she was paralyzed (for the record, this is definitely not an excuse). She basically created her own Catch 22. This chick was a serious attention hog! I can't imagine injecting myself with serious diseases just so others would feel bad for me and want to take care of me and give me a lot of attention. Good thing our SVU detectives were wise to her looniness!

About Last Night...Fox easily grabbed the first hour of the night with the last round of auditions on American Idol, followed by CBS' NCIS and ABC comedies According to Jim and Rodney. In an interesting twist, the WB's Gilmore Girls landed in fourth, ahead of NBC's Fear Factor. At 9, Fox once again dominated with a new episode of House, followed by CBS' Criminal Minds (r) and ABC comedies According to Jim (second episode of the night) and Crumbs. NBC's Scrubs episodes landed in fourth. The final hour of the night went to NBC's Law & Order: SVU, followed by ABC's Boston Legal and CBS's Love Monkey. QUICK CUTS

*CBS' The Amazing Race is moving to a new timeslot after its 2-hour premiere. The reality show will move from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. beginning March 7th. The move is designed to launch new show The Unit starring Dennis Haysbert, Scott Foley and Robert Patrick. The Amazing Race begins its ninth cycle February 28th on CBS.

*NBC's Joey is losing a friend and Law & Order: SVU is gaining one of the special guest star variety. Joey's Andrea Anders (next door neighbor/love interest Alex) is leaving the show and joining the cast of the still-in-development CBS show The Class. No word on when or how Anders' character will be written out of the show. Joey is currently on hiatus and is not expected to return for a third season. Meanwhile, fellow NBC show Law & Order: SVU will get a special visit from rapper Ludacris (aka Chris Bridges) next month. Bridges will play nephew to SVU's Det. Fin (Ice-T). The rapper recently won a Screen Actors Guild Award and a Critics Choice Award for his role as part of the ensemble cast of Crash, which is also nominated for an Academy Award, but his appearance on SVU will mark his television acting debut. The episode featuring Bridges is slated to air March 28th on NBC.

*And finally, it's Nielsen Wednesday! ABC, fueled by the Super Bowl, easily won the week in total viewers and the 18-49 year old group. The alphabet network was led by the Super Bowl (#1), Super Bowl Post Game (10:05-10:10p.m.) (#2), Super Bowl Post Game (10:11-10:27 p.m.) (#3), and Grey's Anatomy (#4). American Idol (Wed) (#5), American Idol (Tues) (#6), CSI (#7), Without a Trace (#8), CSI: Miami (#9) and Survivor (#10) rounded out the top 10. Mandy Moore was a delight last night on Scrubs. She and JD made an adorable couple. The air band storyline was the bomb! Turk's dance to Poison was amazing! Having back to back episodes is the way to go I have decided. One show a week just isn't enough Scrubs for me. How great was the deck they built on their lot?!?
