Making the 'Case' for Joseph! Plus Share-A-Fan, Friday Fun and a Summer 'Project'

If you're a big Cold Case fan like I am, then you saw the finale and you know that Lilly followed her heart and ignored her mind and it got her into a lot of trouble. She found someone like herself, and she just couldn't think clearly. The end of the episode had her stopping by Joseph's farm house while the very apropos "Collide" by Howie Day played in the background. The question is, do we want the show to continue the Lilly and Joseph story line next season? An inside source with the show told fans on the Look Again message board, "Assuming that the fans like him as much as the producers, Joseph will definitely be back next season." You guys know that I loved the Joseph story line and I definitely want him back, so here is my impassioned plea to the producers, writers and all the other brilliant folks at Team Cold Case.

Dear Team Cold Case,

We very much enjoyed watching Lilly finally find someone who seems right for her, and we would love to watch the story develop next season. We loved when you paired her up with A.D.A. Kite because you brought us along for her journey, and we would love to see the same with Joseph, except for the whole dumping-her-because-she-works-too-much part (or really, any dumping her part). See this face?
This is the face of happy Lilly, and we kind of like it. Let's face it, she has had a rough couple of seasons. Her sister blew into town and slept with her partner, then her partner lied about said indiscretion, then she shot and killed serial killer George Marks, then she reunited with her former flame Ray, only to learn that they're two very different people and finally, she watched her mother get married for the fourth time (and said mother rubbed into her face that she needs some joy in her life), so we think she deserves a little happiness. And from what we've seen of Joseph, he seems like the perfect guy to bring her some. We're also looking forward to seeing how Lil will balance these two aspects of her life next season. We saw in the finale that she doesn't know how to do it yet, but we have faith that she'll figure it out. If for some reason she doesn't, then she'll have Stillman kicking her butt into gear. So to recap, the possibilities are endless with this Joseph story line and we can't wait to explore them. This can only happen if you bring him back next season, so we are pleading for Joseph's return. Even TV Guide wants to see him back. From the June 5th-11th issue of the popular television magazine:

CHEERS to Cold Case for a refreshingly warm twist. The often-grim CBS crime drama wrapped up its third season with chronically single Philly detective Lilly Rush (Kathryn Morris) making a love connection with a troubled-teens counselor (Kenneth Johnson) whom she'd mistakenly thought had been murdered. Since Johnson's character on The Shield, Det. Curtis "Lem" Lemansky, really did get killed off, we're hoping he'll come back to heat up Cold Case next season.

We're hoping so too!

Sincerely,
Pass The Remote

How do you feel about Joseph's possible return next season? Do you want to see how things develop between him and Lil? Leave me a comment with your thoughts.

Everwood/Veronica Mars Share-A-Fan!!

Fans of Veronica Mars are teaming up to help fans of Everwood get the show another season. As a fan of both shows, I am loving this idea! The deal is that the VM fans will do everything they can to help Everwood, and then the Everwood fans will reciprocate the help in a future endeavor. From Cloud Watchers:
There has been some discussion on TWOP about helping Everwood fans in the next few days, as a gesture of good will towards their fandom which will hopefully be reciprocated next time Veronica Mars is in trouble.

Here are some details about what you can do:

1. Sign Everwood petitions here and here.
2. Write an email requesting Everwood be saved. Send it to Paul.McGuire@thewb.com and Dawn_Ostroff@upn.com.
This can be as simple as "I know you have had a lot of requests to do anything you can to bring Everwood to the CW next season. This is another one." You can talk about how bringing back Everwood would help the CW's reputation and how the fans would be an asset to the network. There's a ton you can say without knowing a thing about the show.
3. Watch the Everwood finale next Monday at 8:00. Maybe in exchange some Everwood fans will watch the S3 premiere of VM.
4. Make it known that you, as a VM fan, helped out Everwood. If there is a lot of crossover help, people will spread the word and our support will hopefully be remembered by Everwood fans when Veronica needs it (if not, we'll have a record, so we can remind them), and maybe by the fans of other endangered shows who will know that Veronica Mars fans are good people to have on your side.

For more on what VM fans and Everwood fans can do to help save the show, click on over to Everwood Online's Save Everwood page. In other Everwood news, TVGuide.com's Mike Ausiello is reporting today that a rumor that went around yesterday claiming that The CW execs were reconsidering renewing this family drama are NOT TRUE. From Ausiello:
Hate to be a buzzkill, but that rumor floating around about Everwood possibly getting an 11th-hour reprieve from the CW is "not true," says executive producer Rina Mimoun. "The sets have been torn down already." A rep for the CW also denied that talks to bring Everwood back for a fifth season were underway. In fact, the WB put out a press release late yesterday plugging Monday's two-hour "series finale."

All that said, I see no reason to halt the "Save Everwood" movement. Keep signing those petitions and writing those letters. Heck, go rent a blimp and park it over Dawn Ostroff's house. But most importantly, watch Monday's finale, and urge your friends and enemies — especially those with Nielsen boxes — to do the same. All we need is 7 million folks to do so and Ostroff will have no choice but to reverse her decision.

Godspeed.
Bummer, but this doesn't mean that we can't keep trying to help the show get another season. As Ausiello said, tell everyone you know to watch the finale on Monday night. The show's life depends on it!!

FRIDAY FUN: SUMMER STYLE

Since it's summer, and there isn't a lot of "fun" stuff going on with your favorite shows, I'm going to bring you a slightly modified edition of Friday Fun this summer. Instead of separate editions, Friday Fun will be a section in the regular Friday edition of Pass the Remote. And instead of photos, articles, video and other mediums, it will consist of a trivia question, fun fact, quote or other shorter, fun things. We're going to start off this first Friday Fun: Summer Style with a trivia question.

Q: The television show Everwood takes place in the fictional town of Everwood, Colorado. Where is the show actually shot?

If you would like to take a stab at it, leave me a comment. I'll reveal the answer in Monday's edition.

QUICK CUTS

*TV THIS WEEKEND: Falcon Beach premieres (ABC Family Sun. 8 p.m.), The Sopranos ends another season (HBO Sun. 9 p.m.), as does Big Love (HBO Sun. 10 p.m.) and The Simple Life is back for more Paris and Nicole antics (E! Sun. 10 p.m.).

*Actress Sanaa Lathan is in negotiations to join the hit FX show Nip/Tuck. The actress recently starred on the big screen opposite Simon Baker in Something New. According to The Hollywood Reporter (via Zap2it), Lathan will play a trophy wife who enters the lives of Drs. Sean McNamara and Christian Troy on the provocative series. Nip/Tick's fourth season is set to kick off in the fall on FX.

*And finally, Bravo is bringing back Project Runway sooner than expected. The reality competition will start up a new season this summer instead of waiting until the fall. This marks the first time that the show has premiered in the summer months. The third season premiere will air July 12th at 10 p.m. on Bravo.

Everwood is really shot somewhere in Utah. I think it might be near Salt Lake City.
I'm all for Joseph coming back to CC next season. I really liked that sroty line.

Sroty line??????? I think I need to do a better job of proof reading!

Two things.

1. I'm so sorry they got your hopes up with that rumor about Everwood. It's like being kicked where it hurts. Anyway you keep on trying!

2. Hate to say anything against your opinion in this blog, which after all belongs to you. But gosh TV, could you please NOT say that to the producers? WHY turn CC into a soap opera and hook up show like every other show on TV? I'm not watching anymore so I really shouldn't care, but it still hurts to think about it. What's all the attraction in watching her blink, bimbo-eyed, at some picture? What's the fun in seeing a happy person with a perfect life on TV?

Oh you guys. Why why WHY do you like that cheesy overdone story so much? :(

I think it's just a case of "different strokes for different folks." As long as CC does the story line well, I'm all for it. I like how it has played out so far, but I know that this is one of those "agree to disagree" type of topics. Sorry for all the cliches. ;-)

I totally agree with you TVFan, I loved the Joseph story line and so want to see him back [with Lilly] next season. It was so lovely to see her smile! She deserves that.

And to anonymous, you're opinion is fine but if you're not watching next season why should care what they do. Just because Lilly might have a relationship it doesn't mean 'soap opera.'

I say: writers; BRING JOSEPH BACK!!

Everwood's fictional town is really in Utah. Some is shot in Ogden and some is in Salt Lake. I've been held up by the police so there was no road noise while an outdoor scene was being shot in a neighborhood near the Shriner's Children's Hospital. Since I could see everthing I wasn't too annoyed about the delay.
