It's only fitting that when a totally awesome show like How I Met Your Mother reaches a HUGE milestone like its 100th episode, that one of its totally awesome characters should reach one as well. Cue Barney and his first stretch completely, utterly suit-less!! No suit in the bar, no suit in the apartment, and no suit to impress would-be conquests. Yup, Barney gave up suits. Of course, it was all in pursuit of a conquest. See, of all the women that he had slept with, he had never bedded a "hot bartender," so when he set his sights on the new one at the bar (guest star Stacy Keibler), he knew what he had to do. Unfortunately, she had a thing about men in suits: She hates them! Barney was faced with a conundrum. Meanwhile, Ted finally met the fabled mother. Or part of her anyway.
But first, Barney and the suit. After deciding to give up suits until he bagged the bartender, he cheated for a brief moment in the bathroom with a hidden suit. Unfortunately, the moment was long enough to cause an irreparable tear in the suit which led to a hilarious sequence involving Tim Gunn and an urn (you'd have to see it to appreciate it). Afterward, he finally got the hot bartender back to his apartment where she found his suit stash. She made him decide: her or the suits. This led to a fabulous musical sequence where Barney, flanked by the rest of the cast, sang about the wonderful-ness of suits. It was, wait for it... LEGENDARY! Of course, in the end, Barney was once again able to get the girl and keep his suits, albeit, the next morning.
And then there was the little matter of Ted finally meeting the mother... sorta. Well, he met her roommate. He really liked her, but she was a student and he's a professor and the school kinda frowns on relationships between the two. It was basically over before it started. Not that it would have mattered, though. Ted was increasingly becoming more interested in the roommate who he hadn't even met. They seemed to enjoy the same obscure things. And just as he was about to leave the apartment, he caught a glimpse of the roommate's foot as she closed the door behind her. Dang it! So close!! Then again, he did leave behind the infamous yellow umbrella.
Congrats to HIMYM for 100 episodes! And here's to a hundred more!! How I Met Your Mother airs Mondays on CBS. If you missed last night's episode, watch it for free at cbs.com.

One comment on the musical number - the sound was strange. Maybe it was the result of post-production or dubbing or whatever, but it didn't sound like it was occuring in the same place as the video.
