Barney's Super Ad

Barney is apparently unfamiliar with the expressions "Be careful what you wish for..." and "Too much of a good thing..." because he experienced both during his little Super Bowl stunt in this week's episode.  It might seem like a good idea to make a poster advertising your phone number and then to get said poster on during the telecast of the biggest sporting event of the year.  After all, you'll get women calling from all over the world, thus expanding Barney's dwindling supply of women he hasn't slept with in NYC.  And at first, it was great.  Women were calling non-stop and Barney was meeting many of them, but things took a turn for the obsessive.  Suddenly, Barney's bright idea turned into a very dark nightmare.


The problem with having so many women at your disposal is there's always a "hotter chick" waiting in the wings.  Barney became so obsessed with the hotter chick waiting in the wings that he couldn't even be with the hot women he was picking up.  He would start to close the deal and then his cell would ring.  He would take the call, convince himself that this new girl was hotter, and then ditch the girl in his bedroom for the girl on the phone.  Eventually, it drove him crazy and it took Lily throwing the phone into a pitcher of beer to finally break him of his new obsession.

Meanwhile, Robin was obsessing over the Duck and the Rabbit.  After a table-wide argument over whether the Duck or the Rabbit was better, they settled on the Duck.  Robin's co-anchor had asked her over for a Valentine's Day party and she claimed she didn't want to go.  The others were convinced that Don was a Duck, but Robin insisted that he was a Rabbit until she realized that he hadn't asked her out (only to a party).  Then, in true Robin form, she wanted him to like her, so he became a Duck.  When she showed up to the "party," it was just Don... in the buff!  He went back to being a Rabbit.  Then he apologized, wore pants on the set, and promised her that he would try harder to take their very early morning show seriously, and he was once again in the Duck column.  "Oh duck," is right!
