Bright's Cheatin' Heart! Plus 'Medium,' Kristen Bell and 'Legal' News

Well, at least Bright did the right thing last night on Everwood and told Hannah about what he had done. It was weird because I wanted Hannah to know, but I also felt a little conflicted because, like Bright, I didn't want the relationship to end. However, Bright made his bed and now he is certainly lying in it. Every time I started to feel a little sorry for him, I reminded myself that he made the decision to cheat. It's a testament to the writers and Chris Pratt's acting talent that Bright was still sympathetic despite the horrible thing that he did. Still, I was right there along with Ephram and Amy in believing that Hannah needed to know and Bright deserved whatever was coming his way. Speaking of Amy, it was good to have the old her back! She was there for Hannah and she's the reason that Bright came clean. It was also nice to see her and Ephram as friends again. Of course, their little talk by Ephram's car outside of Sam's was littered with references to their own relationship. I was thinking about that comment that Logan made on Veronica Mars last week about he and Veronica having an epic relationship, and I don't think that Logan and Veronica's time together has quite reached epic proportions yet, but Amy and Ephram's sure has over the years.

Elsewhere in Everwood, Dr. Abbott's omission on his adoption application came back to bite him just as I thought it would. I wasn't worried about Andy spilling the truth about Rose's cancer, but I had a feeling that Rose was going to say something when the counselor told them that they had been approved to adopt the little boy from Africa. I understand that Harold just wanted the best chance possible, but in the end, he caused himself and Rose more heartache. Their chance of adopting was taken away as soon as the adoption agency learned that Rose hadn't been healthy for even a year. I'm sure lying on the application didn't help either. It was weird to see a moral man such as Harold do something so immoral like lying on an application. It was a form of cheating, and I never imagined that the good doctor would do such a thing, but it just goes to show that we're all capable of doing something desperate if we want something bad enough. Speaking of that, it seems that Reid has gotten himself into a huge mess. He was caught cheating on a med school exam and is now expelled. What an interesting topic for this show to tackle considering that cheating on college campuses is rampant, despite the harsh consequences. I know Reid was desperate, but risking his entire career and doing something that seriously compromised his character was definitely not the answer. I, with the help of some spoilers from TV Guide, foresee dark days ahead for him. And since cheating seemed to be the central theme last night, that brings us back full circle to Bright and Hannah and the moment of truth when Bright finally told her. Was that scene heartbreaking or what? Bright, the first person that Hannah has ever loved and trusted, took that love and trust and threw it away over something that he thought he was missing. Now, he's going to be missing a whole lot more because I can't imagine Hannah ever fully getting over what he did to her. When Bright was approaching Hannah's room to tell her, I actually felt a knot in my stomach because I knew Hannah was going to be devastated. Then, seeing the look on her face when he told her caused the knot to grow to a full fledged lump in my throat. And how beautifully poignant was the song in the background? By the way, if you're wondering about that haunting tune, it was Tori Amos' "A Sorta Fairytale" off of her Scarlet's Walk album. What did you think about Bright's confession and Hannah's reaction? Were you as heartbroken as I was? Drop me a comment with your thoughts on last night's episode. Molly Ring- wald is blind!!?? Well, not the real Molly Ringwald of course, but her character last night on Medium. I had no idea, but after it was revealed, I started to think about Allison's dreams and it all made sense: the distorted visions, the faceless assailant and the constant close ups on Molly's eyes. As usual, I had no idea what was going on with the case until everything started coming together. The convicted man was related to Ringwald's character because his girlfriend and Ringwald were both being victimized by the same man. And how sick was that guy by the way? He "watches" these women while they sleep? He paid his first victim's way through college because she was willing to put on a blindfold and sleep while he watched her! I was so creeped out when Allison had that dream about Ringwald's character answering her phone and then we see the creep sitting behind her. And then it really happens the next day! That gave me a serious case of the heebie-jeebies! LOVED that coffee trick, though. Worked like a charm. And now it's time for this week's segment on why I love my TV boyfriend Det. Lee Scanlon. Is there anything he won't do for Allison? Even though he thought that she was being ridiculous about Ringwald's character being in any real danger, he still sent police presence over to the apartment complex. I LOVED their scene together at the police station and they had me laughing the way I usually only do during Allison's at home scenes. Sigh.

QUICK CUTS

*As promised yesterday, TVGuide.com has an interview with Veronica Mars' Kristen Bell. In the Q&A, the actress discusses her upcoming movies (Pulse sounds like it's going to rock), the toll acting can take on your emotions (and your arms, as she explains about her big bruise she sustained while shooting the season finale of VM), and she gives us a preview of the big finale (no major spoilers). According to Bell, the episode is different from what we're used to seeing on TV. "I think that what is done in the final episode hasn't been done on television before. Not in the way of stunts or anything, but the theory behind it, if you really think about it, hasn't been done. I think that's because [series creator] Rob Thomas challenges himself. They tried really hard to make it as good as Season 1, and I really think it is," she tells the magazine's online site. Click on over to TVGuide.com to read more with Kristen.

*According to Mike Ausiello at TVGuide.com, sources are saying that ABC has renewed Boston Legal for another season. The network has yet to confirm the good news, but The Hollywood Reporter is also reporting the news today. According to the sources, the show will return this fall with a full 22-episode order. We'll find out for sure if the legal drama is coming back when ABC announces its fall schedule on May 16th.

*And finally, it's week 2 of E! Online's SOS campaign. This campaign challenges viewers to choose one "bubble show" to save for next season. The show with the most votes will get the backing of E!'s Kristin Veitch. She has counted all of your emails (all 50,000 of them!) from last week, and the 5 shows with the highest vote total are: Veronica Mars, Everwood, One Tree Hill, Supernatural and What About Brian. Now, it's up to you to let Kristin know which of those five shows you cannot live without. Simply send her an email (tvdiva@eonline.com) with the show's name in the subject area and nothing in the body of the email. For more on how to vote, and to read about each of the five shows' chances of surviving, click on over to Kristin's column at eonline.

Good news about Boston Legal. I really enjoy that show.

Medium was back in top form last night. Good to see it. Patricia Arquette goes head to head with her sister Roseanna now that What About Brian has hit the TV world. I tape it and watch it after Medium which brings me to my comment. How can those two be sisters and look absolutely nothing alike?!? None of those Arquettes look alike for that matter.
