I'm sure there are worse things than having Buddy Garrity crash on your couch for a few days (for instance, having him crash on your couch permanently), but after he watches your game tapes, usurps your bathroom, and goes all CSI on your notepad to find out that you were meeting with a college about a job, it would be difficult to think of anything. Buddy's the sort of guy that you can handle in small does only, so I can't imagine how annoyed Coach Taylor and his family must have been for the few days that he played roomie. When he finally left, the depth of his preoccupation with Panther football became all too apparent. Instead of worrying about his marriage (because "Pam will forgive" him), he chose to concern himself with whether or not Eric was going to take a job that he hadn't been offered. It was shocking, but sad at the same time. Like Coach said, Buddy buries his head in football. Personally, I'm hoping that Pam doesn't take his cocky rear back, but I have a feeling that she will.
Elsewhere, Riggins has a new friend (and I'm not just referring to the little squirt he was coaching), Lyla is jealous of Jason's tattoo artist (I'm not even sure what to say about this), Smash's relationship with Waverly just got a bit more complicated thanks to her decision to go off her meds, and Tyra once again had to play mother to her mother. How scary was that scene where her mom fell into the glass table?? Tyra continues to impress me with her inner conflict of playing the mother and the kid at the same time. Oh, and there was also the small matter at the end of the episode where TMU called and offered Coach the job! I think we can safely assume that he isn't going to take it, but I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to see how this plays out.
