Teams and the Tower of Doom

So, this edition of The Amazing Race has finally made its way to Europe. I was wondering if they would go there after exploring so many more exotic locations. When the teams had to make their way to the stadium at the end, I was worried that it was going to be a repeat of that impossible stadium challenge from the Family Edition last year. Teams were up all night looking for their next clue! Luckily, there was no stadium searching, but there was a very scary rappelling challenge down a way too tall tower. And once the models completed it, they got that infamous TAR command -- "Keep Racing!!!" Oh boy, things are going to be suspenseful next week with all of the teams neck and neck! Anyway, here are some entertaining moments from last night.

*One of the blondes thought that the people of Finland walk around in wooden shoes all day. First of all, it's the Dutch who are known for their "wooden shoes" (otherwise known as clogs to the rest of us), and I'm sure they don't wear them everyday. From Wikipedia:
Traditional clogs were made out of willow or poplar wood and are associated with the Netherlands and Sweden as part of the touristic "Holland"/Swedish image, where they are seen as a form of national dress. Because of this, Dutch people are sometimes called cloggies, that is, clog-wearers. In Dutch, clogs are known as klompen. The traditional, all wooden, Dutch clogs have been officially labelled as safety shoes, passing European standards for the CE mark with flying colours. Today, Dutch clogs are available in many tourist shops. Wearing clogs is considered to be healthy for the feet.

This is the sort of comment that I would expect from Kim, girls!

*How do Rob/Kim manage to get lost everywhere they go?? They drove to the mine, but couldn't find the door, so they drove around for a little while (almost driving into the mine) before they finally spotted other teams' cars. Then at the stadium, they walked up to several wrong doors. They managed both of these mistakes with other teams around them doing the correct thing!

*Is it just me, or did Rob look possessed while he was completing that mining Roadblock?? The way they had that tiny light on him in that pitch-dark shaft that accentuated that crazy look on his face was giving me the creeps. Run Kim!

Since this leg was non-elimination "Keep Racing!!!," no one was eliminated. This means that we're almost guaranteed an elimination leg next week. I can't wait to see how all of the other teams handle that tower challenge at the end of this one. That thing is so high, so steep and so scary! We'll have to tune in on Sunday to see what happens. What did you think of last night's episode? Are you happy that all of the teams are still in it? Leave me a comment with your thoughts.
