Hiro's Somewhere in Time and Claire's Time is Running Out

Claire's dad and his intentions may be the biggest mystery of Heroes, and that's saying a lot for a show clouded in intrigue. I get that he wants to keep his daughter safe, but now it seems that he means no harm to her fellow heroes and he isn't associated with Sylar. So, who is Sylar?? Claire's dad also has a strict no drugs policy, unless of course a heroin-induced painter can foretell the future and save his daughter. But, I'm not so sure I blame him here. Speaking of Claire and her father, we finally learned how he came to adopt her. Her mother was a hero and somehow wound up dead, and all of it has something to do with Claire's future father. We also learned that Sylar killed Mohinder's father (he was wearing the same watch in Mohinder's symbolic dreams as the man in the diner in Odessa). Why is Sylar collecting the brains of the heroes one by one? Along with the revealing new twists, there was the episode's most shocking moment -- the waitress's death. I didn't see that one coming at all, so I just sat there in shock for a few minutes. And now Hiro is traveling through time to prevent her death. From the looks of that picture hanging on the diner wall, it seems that he successfully time traveled, but it doesn't look like he was successful in saving her yet. He needs to hurry and come back to the present before it's too late for Claire. If they don't save the cheerleader, then we're all doomed!

Meanwhile, things got a little clearer for Matt and little cloudier for me. Didn't Claire's dad take Matt after he already had his power? Maybe we just saw things in a convoluted order, but it seemed like he took him after he had begun hearing other people's thoughts. Plus, as far as we know, the other heroes don't have the X-Files like chip in the back of their necks. Oh, and I still can't figure out how being radioactive is a special power. Looks like somebody drew the short straw!

Nice call on Sylar's watch--I totally missed that! These episodes always have so much to absorb that I inevitably totally overlook important details.

I had the same question about Matt's powers. Hopefully that'll be resolved soon, because it definitely left me confused.

So glad I'm not the only one who's a little confused about Matt's powers.

I tend to miss things as well. There are so many important facts crammed into these episodes!
