Thursday's News & Notes

Here's a look at today's biggest TV news, tonight's hottest programs and last night's biggest ratings winners.

~Primetime Pass~

(a look at what PTR's watching tonight and talking about tomorrow)

My Name is Earl (NBC 8 p.m.) - "Van Hickey." While Joy (Jaime Pressly) is doing community service at a local senior recreational center to improve her image for an upcoming trial, Earl (Jason Lee) runs into number 50 on his list. Years ago, when Earl, Randy (Ethan Suplee) and Ralph (guest star Giovanni Ribisi) put together their band, Phish Tahko, they unknowingly told an elderly man, Tom (Larry Hankin), that he could be the lead singer. When Tom scared away all their female fans, the band kicked him out before their very first show. While Earl tries to make amends with Tom, he's confronted with number 51 - "Slept with Ralph's Mom."

CSI (CBS 9 p.m.) - "Double-cross." Grissom and his team investigate the unusual circumstances surrounding the case of a woman found dead in a parish church. Following the evidence, the team uncovers a bizarre love triangle dating all the way back to high school that could reveal who is responsible for the woman's murder.
