'Veronica' is Back!

There are no words to describe my excitement over tonight's premiere of Veronica Mars! Confession: I've seen it, and I'm still beyond psyched to watch it on my big TV without random freezing moments like I had when I watched it over the Internet. I can attest to the fact that it's awesome!! There are so many funny lines, wonderful moments, surprises and much, much more. Tonight's premiere is an absolute must see and the best news is, you don't have to have seen a single episode of VM to watch tonight's premiere. The opener sets up everything that you'll need to know. Of course, this season comes with a few changes. Veronica and co. are leaving Neptune high and moving on to Hearst College, there are new characters (most notably Mac's roommate Parker and Wallace's roommate Piz), there's a new artsy-er opening, and it's moving from a season-long mystery format to three shorter mysteries. The first mystery, the Hearst rapist, is reintroduced and advanced and it looks to have all of the usual VM-esque trappings. The college setting adds a bit of maturity to the show and the new characters fit nicely into the framework of the series. That should come as no surprise considering that series creator/executive producer Rob Thomas wrote the opener. You can also expect to learn a little more about that mysterious briefcase from last season along with plenty of other thrills and chills. I am happy to report that tonight's return trip to Mars is a very successful and welcome one. For more on this season, be sure to read my article on the blogger teleconference with Thomas and new series regular Tina Majorino (Mac).
