Wednesday's News & Notes

Here's a look at today's biggest TV news, tonight's hottest programs and last night's biggest ratings winners.

QUICK CUTS
*The CW is claiming its first victim of its freshman season. Thriller Runaway is done after only three episodes, making it the second official overall causality of the young season. CBS recently announced Smith's cancellation. Runaway, about a family on the run from the law after the patriarch (Donnie Walhberg) is accused of murder, was the only new drama that the new CW picked up for the fall season. For the time being, the network will air reruns in Runaway's Sunday night slot.

*And finally, it's Nielsen Wednesday! CBS once again won the week in total viewers, but the 18-49 demo was not as easily decided. For the first time this season, ABC was not the clear winner in the coveted group because the Alphabet network tied with CBS for the week ending October 15th. Here's a look at the Top 10 shows from last week courtesy of USAToday.com:
1. Grey's Anatomy (22.9 million viewers)
2. CSI (21.9)
3. Desperate Housewives (20.6)

Mmm, I seemed to miss the scene with Nikki and Paulo in Jack's tent. And come to think of it, who's Nikki and Paulo?

I'm assuming that they're the two random people back at the camp that we didn't know last night. Were we supposed to know them? That was weird.
